The soil beneath our feet is just as important as the climate, clean water and biodiversity. Soils are diverse and fulfil important functions for humans and the environment. But they are under pressure and are being used more and more. Six soil types are presented as examples on the interactive column. Visitors can take a look at the soils and learn more about their properties and utilisation.
